When the summer South Easter fills in, hundreds of colourful kites take to the sky with Table Mountain forming a picture-perfect backdrop. It's a 50-metre walk over the dunes and onto the beach — the lush lawns in front of the hotel are the perfect spot to set up your kit.
It's also the home of the international Red Bull Megaloop Challenge, where pro kiters throw down big megaloops alongside enthusiasts chasing the same wind.
